CHALLENGE BRINGS CHANGE
There are many choices for your physical therapy needs in the Scottsdale and surrounding area. At Kinetic Sports and Spine Physical Therapy (KSSPT) we pride ourselves on a high level of customer service and personalized attention that you cannot get anywhere else. We are a small practice focused on you and your needs to restore you back to the highest level of performance. We are not a traditional physical therapy practice. We are out of network for all insurance providers which allows us to focus on your care and needs without having to see a high volume of patients. What you can expect from this is a personalized experience that is created and delivered by your treating physical therapist and no one else for superior results. We understand a out-of-network model may not be for everyone, but if you have a high deductible insurance plan you will spend less money and time on your care at KSSPT than anywhere else in the valley!
CFNS is extremely lucky to have a physical therapist of the caliber of Dr. Jason Avakian. Common practice amongst most people is to look at physical therapy as injury healing or post-trauma training. In fact, PT services should be looked at as proper maintenance. Everyone comes into CrossFit with weaknesses and imbalances derived from years of improper training, poor posture, past injuries, genetic predispositions, etc. Create a relationship with Dr. Avakian where you can remain confident that your body is always firing on all cylinders, keeping you on the path to reaching your full fitness potential.
Dr. Avakian is a highly skilled physical therapist and graduated Physical Therapy school in 1999 from Andrews University in southern Michigan with his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Since that time he has worked primarily in the field of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Jason’s passion is treating chronic musculoskeletal problems throughout the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle with an emphasis on the treatment of acute and chronic spinal conditions. In 2005 Jason became certified as a Clinical Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and recertified in 2015. In 2006 he became certified as a Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) and in 2008 a Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist (COMT) with distinction through the North American Institute of Manual Physical Therapy. This credential certifies that Jason has gone through rigorous written and oral practical examination to prove that he can safely and effectively manipulate the spinal column and peripheral joints. In 2010 Jason became certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling which is a technique to help reduce muscular tightness throughout the body. Lastly, in 2016, Jason has completed his Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy with an emphasis on Orthopedic Manual Therapy (DScPT). Jason’s thesis was titled “Does High Intensity CrossFit exercise increase Heart Rate and Maximal Oxygen Consumption during Single Exercise Session? A Pilot Study.”
When Jason is not treating patients in the clinic, he is also educating future physical therapist as a Assistant Clinical Professor for Northern Arizona University Physical Therapy program on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus.
