CHALLENGE BRINGS CHANGE
Erica began her fitness journey with yoga way back in 2004. As someone who never quite found her footing in any type of sport or fitness regimen, how much she enjoyed and found strength through yoga was mind-blowing. Day to day stress was reduced, negative mind-chatter was more controllable, muscles she had never seen before were starting to emerge, and falling asleep at night took a couple minutes instead of an hour or more. In 2009 she decided to take her yoga practice a step further by completing her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification right here in Scottsdale.
In 2016, with encouragement from her husband, Erica decided to finally try out a Crossfit class to see what all the fuss was about. She was incredibly passionate about yoga and what it can do, but was looking for something else to take her strength-building even further. From the initial trial class, she was hooked. Never in her life had she felt so much accomplishment and exhaustion as that buzzer went off and she tried to catch her breath in a pool of sweat. Not only did she discover her love of weightlifting, but the competitive and supportive community of Crossfit was incomparable to anything else.
Erica believes that Crossfit and yoga are the perfect balance, one helping the other to progress athletes to new levels of fitness and body awareness. With her modern style of teaching and laid-back personality, Erica is so excited to bring yoga to the Crossfit North Scottsdale community.
